Laura Robbins has served as Coordinator of Congregational Care at LAC since 2009. Having grown up in a small town in eastern North Carolina, she attended Davidson College where she majored in English and secondary education. Laura taught high school English for seven years, first on the coast of North Carolina and then in Columbia, South Carolina while her husband, Kevin, was attending seminary. Laura retired from the high school classroom in 1987 when she and Kevin began their pastoral ministry together in Brunswick, Maryland and also started their family. She has devoted herself to being a mom to three girls, homeschooling for ten of those years, and to being active in church ministry. At different times she has worked in the areas of Christian education, women’s ministry, missions and visitation ministry. Since their last daughter graduated from high school, Laura has counted it a privilege to work more closely in the area of congregational care, helping to mobilize the church body in giving compassionate care to one another.
